Hartselle, AL July 7, 2009 – Magnolia River has been awarded a multi-year IDIQ contract, as a lead subcontractor on Team M.C. Fuhrman and Associates, LLC (MCFA), to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers–Huntsville District Engineering and Support Center and provide Resource Efficiency Managers (REMs) at Army installations nationwide. The total estimated value for this procurement is $40 million in program capacity over a period of five years, and will focus on energy savings, energy demand reduction, and renewable energy solutions.
MR, as a lead Subcontractor, will help support the Army’s Energy Management program, U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, and U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) to reduce overall utility costs and consumption by reducing energy intensity by at least three percent per year and water consumption intensity by at least two percent per year. MR (Hartselle, AL) is teamed with MCFA (Haddonfield, NJ), the prime contractor, ICF International (Fairfax, VA) and EBL Engineers, LLC (Baltimore, MD).
In addition, in accordance with EPAct 2005 and Executive Order 13423 requirements, federal facilities must reduce at least 15 percent of the overall energy consumed at the installation or federal facility via renewable sources by 2015. MRS will assist the Army in the development and implementation of renewable energy projects, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects, and alternative fuel utilization projects.
