RONALD S. HOFF, JR.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Magnolia River’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, Ronnie Hoff, in August of 2000. His career began in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he was a Staking Engineer for Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO). After relocating to Alabama, he joined Alabama Gas Company (Alagasco, now Spire Energy) in engineering/project management. Mr. Hoff then accepted the position of Operations Manager for a new natural gas company, Wheeler Basin Natural Gas, in North Alabama, where he was promoted to General Manager, the position he held until leaving to start Magnolia River.
After over 25 years of experience in various aspects of the utilities industry, Mr. Hoff offers a wealth of knowledge in both electric and natural gas. He is currently responsible for development of the corporate vision, strategic planning, long-range business development, large-account contract negotiations, and operations oversight.
Mr. Hoff is a member of the Alabama Natural Gas Association (ANGA), Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA), Georgia Municipal Gas Association (GMA), Tennessee Gas Association (TGA), Mississippi Natural Gas Association (MNGA), American Gas Association (AGA), and the American Public Gas Association (APGA).
Heath McCleskey serves as the organization’s President. He has fiduciary responsibility for finance, accounting, budgets, cost-benefit analysis, planning, forecasting, and strategy for profitable growth. He previously served as CFO for an international wholesale distribution company for almost six years. Prior to that, he was a senior manager for a regional certified public accounting firm, Warren Averett, for five years. Mr. McCleskey started his career with an international public accounting firm located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. McCleskey is licensed as a certified public accountant with the state of Alabama and is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration, as well as a Master of Tax Accounting, both from the University of Alabama.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Chantelle Miner serves as Magnolia Rivers' Chief Financial Officer and develops the financial well-being of the organization through managing profitability, financial strategy, forecasting, developing budgets, and dealing with complex business decisions.
With over 10 years of experience in public accounting, Mrs. Miner has worked with numerous companies in all facets of both corporate tax and accounting before coming to Magnolia River in 2016 as the Financial Controller. Her experience helps in leading the accounting and finance department as the Chief Financial Officer.
Mrs. Miner holds a BS in Business Administration, Accounting from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is licensed as a certified public accountant with the state of Alabama and is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute Certified Public Accountants.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Mr. Laney first started in the natural gas industry in 2002 as a Draftsman with Magnolia River, ultimately progressing to Project Manager. In 2005, Mr. Laney left to pursue a career in the foundry industry, serving as Metallurgical Engineer of steel pipe/tube manufacturing company. In 2010, Mr. Laney joined Fontaine, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. Starting as an Engineer, he transitioned, over six years into many roles including Sourcing Lead, Project Manager, Product Manager, Manufacturing Plant Manager, and finally Director of Sales/Marketing of a startup within Berkshire Hathaway.
In August 2016, Mr. Laney rejoined the Magnolia River team as the Engineering Manager of the Decatur, Al office, was promoted to oversee the Engineering Division in January 2017, and became COO in 2018. Combining his knowledge and experience from the engineering and business management fields, he offers expertise in process development, strategic planning, and personnel management to complete tasks on time and within budget.
Mr. Laney holds two degrees from The University of Alabama: a Bachelor’s of Science in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and an MBA from the College of Business. He has managed multiple market/feasibility studies and has been awarded two patents.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Hayden Strickland is Magnolia River’s Vice President of Technology. Software and GIS are integral parts of Magnolia River’s plan to provide end-to-end solutions for our clients. Mr. Strickland is responsible for management of both the Software and GIS groups. Previously, he served Magnolia River as GIS Analyst, GIS Manager, and GIS Executive Director.
As the company continues to expand software and services in these areas, Mr. Strickland will continue to provide guidance to Magnolia River's GIS Professionals and Software Development team.
Mr. Strickland holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Alabama
DAVID W. LOVE
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PIPELINE SERVICES
David Love serves as the Senior Vice President, Pipeline Division for Magnolia River. He provides marketing analysis, consulting services, and training to Magnolia River's varied clients. His previous background includes positions with such companies as Utility Automation Integrators, Inc., Ed Young Sales Company (Charlotte, NC), Wheeler Basin Natural Gas Company, and Alagasco.
Mr. Love is currently a member of Alabama Natural Gas Association (ANGA), American Public Gas Association (APGA), and Alabama Master Gas Fitters, among other organizations. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from Jacksonville State University (Jacksonville, AL).
Richie Sparkman serves as General Counsel for Magnolia River. He is responsible for all contract negotiations, day to day legal issues, risk mitigation and litigation management. Mr. Sparkman came from the private practice of law, where he spent 13 years representing small privately held companies and financial institutions in a variety of areas, including corporate organizations, construction law, real estate, collections, contract disputes, employment law, and personal injury. He oversees a team that includes our Senior Director of Compliance, Legal Assistant/Contract Specialist and Contracts Coordinator.
Mr. Sparkman is a 2004 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Kevin Adams joined Magnolia River in July of 2018 as the Vice President of Business Development following 15 years with Control Southern Inc, an Emerson Impact Partner, where he served as an Account Manager, Sales Manager, and Vice President of Sales. Mr. Adams began his career as an engineer with The Boeing Company in Huntsville, AL, working on the International Space Station and Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Missile programs.
Mr. Adams enjoys developing territory sales strategies that help clients achieve success by solving their toughest challenges. His desire is for Magnolia River to provide clients with unmatched solutions that improve their financial results.
Mr. Adams business development philosophy is a client-centric focus achieved through growth of individual leaders that build trusted relationships. He has a proven track record of recruiting and building dynamic sales teams in the Oil & Gas Distribution, Pipeline, and Gas Utility markets.
VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGIC ACCOUNTS
Nathan Sills serves as the organizations Vice President of Strategic Accounts. His responsibilities include managing strategic planning, business development, and operations of strategic accounts. He has specialized experience in data management, project management, utilities, city planning, county planning, regional planning, transportation planning, emergency management, hazard mitigation, and software implementation.
Mr. Sills began his career as a GIS analyst with Geographic Technologies Group. He later worked for Goodwyn, Mills, and Cawood as a Planner/GIS Analyst and rose to become the Director of Geospatial Services. In 2013, Mr. Sills came to Magnolia River as an Area Director and then served as the Director of GIS Services until promotion to Vice President of GIS Services, and most recent promotion to Vice President of Strategic Accounts.
Mr. Sills holds a Bachelors in Geography from Auburn University and Masters in Geography from the University of Alabama with a focus on Urban/Regional Planning. Mr. Sills is a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) and a LEED Green Associate.
VICE PRESIDENT OF INSPECTION SERVICES
Derek Wright serves as Magnolia River’s Vice President of Inspection. In his role, he provides strategic vision to the continuous growth of the business, development of relationships with natural gas distribution companies to provide third party inspection services, and support of client relations with our second-mile service. He has proficient experience in business management, project planning, project management, and natural gas pipeline replacement construction.
Mr. Wright began his career in retail management before launching his natural gas career in 2006. He initially worked for Miller Pipeline where he excelled in many roles. He joined Magnolia River in 2012 and worked in nearly every inspection position while rising to his current responsibilities, and developed a keen and holistic understanding of natural gas inspection and all it entails. Mr. Wright plays a primary role in managing all aspects of Magnolia River’s Inspection Division to ensure a quality and consistent product.
Mr. Wright holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from Faulkner University and an MBA in Project Management from Colombia Southern University.
